Over the last years, the practice of Yin Yoga has gained more and more awareness, offering a counterpart to a high-paced and interactive environment.
Yin Yoga is a relatively modern, slow-paced approach to practicing Yoga. The poses are mindfully entered, supported with props, and held for an extended period of time, aiming for roughly 3-7 minutes. Focusing on the softer connective tissues in the body, primarily the fascia but also ligaments, tendons and joints. This practice contributes to a deeper level of flexibility and deep relaxation of the physical body.
Shaped by Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers, Yin Yoga is a connecting a new interpretation of classical Hatha postures, the Practice of Mindfulness and stimulation of the life force Chi based on Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The physical practice and the mindful approach are inseparable in Yin Yoga.
Yin Yoga is a rather simple practice, but not always easy to follow. Finding stillness and staying for a longer period of time can be a challenge for the body and the mind.
Finding stillness in the physical body allows space to observe your mind. Recognizing reactive thinking patterns and emotions and encountering them with patience and acceptance.
Yin Yoga is a practice to help you slow down and surrender to what’s inside.
This Yin Yoga Teacher Training is designed to give you a deeper understanding of the Anatomy of Yin. Working with a functional, rather than aesthetic approach to alignment, and understanding the deeper connective tissues such as joints, ligaments, tendons and especially the fascia. We will also shed light on the ancient holistic system of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Meridians (Energy channels) in the body, learning specific sequencing to enhance the flow of Chi.
You will receive a 50hr Certified Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Certificate after successfully completing this training.
